About Me

I’ve been golfing my entire life but I’ve never gotten particularly good at it. I’ve hovered between a 16-20 handicap for years, capable of breaking 100 on any day but not every day. My golf game has suffered from the usual issues: Slicing a driver, not enough distance with the driver, losing too many balls, not taking what the course gives you, being unable to get out of bunkers… you name it, I’ve got it. Through all the struggles, I’ve always loved picking up my clubs and playing a round. I’ve never practiced a lot (which is probably the root of my issues).

In May of 2023, something finally clicked. I began compressing the golf ball and hitting further/straighter. My handicap has fallen to around 12. I shot an 84 on a difficult course. After the 84, I decided I wanted to play more golf in 2024… My one goal: GET INTO THE SOLSTICE.

In November, I was able to register for 2024 Bandon Solstice. Now, I am setting out to get ready for it and get better at golf. This is about my journey to complete the longest day in golf.
